Helpful Key Words: publish, publish article, publish scholarly article, publish journal article, publish thesis, publish academic article, publish academic journal article, publish professional article, publish professional journal article, published, get published, publishing, journal publishing, academic journal publishing, professional journal publishing, call for manuscripts.
The Problem:
Yes, it is true that, "Good work deserves to be published!" Yet, since there are relatively few scholarly professional journals for each field, and those few journals have space for only so many articles in each issue or in each year, the unfortunate result is that only a relative handful of valuable scholarly works are published each year. It is a fact that for every article published in a scholarly journal, hundreds of excellent articles go unpublished!
In addition to the capacity problem just described, your article may be a work of genius yet still be rejected by a journal publisher who just published an inferior article on the same or a similar subject, lacks interest in your specific topic, doesn't understand your article, dislikes your educational background, dislikes your professional position, disagrees with your point of view, or simply may not want to publish an article on your subject, no matter how important the subject and the article may be.
These things happen every day. As a result, huge amounts of valuable work and research never make it into the public domain where it is widely accessible.
What a crying shame! This valuable work is a part of your personal intellectual capital that you bring to the table in your job, whether it is teaching, research, or another profession. On a grander scale, your valuable but unpublished work is a part of our national wealth that goes untapped. If no one reads your scholarly works, then the universe of people that is able to recognize your genius and your contribution to your field and society is reduced artificially, and for no good or valid reason.
Plus, the system for publishing scholarly articles is hugely inefficient. Think of your time wasted sending your articles around to different publications, only to collect rejection slips months later and sent by people who know less about your field than you do.
The Solution:
At last, the days of good work by good people going unpublished are over! Consider this a "Call for Manuscripts." Finally, an efficacious and workable business model has been developed to publish these deserving works on a monthly basis, or as volume dictates, and make them accessible not only to your peers but to the worldwide general public as well. The Journal of Advanced Studies is in the process of being created to meet this need, and it has been very well received by all so far. The purpose of the Journal of Advanced Studies is to publish the works of knowledgeable scholarly individuals such as professors, graduate students, professionals, and teams so that their thoughts, ideas, research, and knowledge are injected into the professional and public arenas where they can be known and used by all, worldwide.
The admittedly ambitious intention of the omni-disciplinary Journal of Advanced Studies is to cover ALL areas of academic endeavor, knowledge, and research, including agriculture, arts, behavioral sciences, business and economics, computers, engineering, law, life and physical sciences, mathematics and statistics, medicine and health, military, social sciences, and all other fields.
The Journal of Advanced Studies is in its infancy, starting on the proverbial "shoestring," and will grow based upon the interest shown by eager scholars and other professionals that want and need to be published. Initially, as manuscripts come in, they will be published on the Journal of Advanced Studies' online journal website (under construction) that will be promoted in order to gain public awareness and readership. When the first 10 - 20 manuscripts are received, the Journal of Advanced Studies will be published in a traditional paperback journal format and circulated free to the top 100 or so universities and public libraries across the country, as well as selected international sites. This means that articles will appear on an online journal website as well as in a traditional paperback format professional journal. It is also anticipated that subscriptions to the printed journal will be offered to the public.
The initial print version of the Journal of Advanced Studies will be omnii-disciplinary, with the plan to transition to specialized journals as soon as manuscript traffic dictates. Potential specialized Journals are planned to include ALL areas of knowledge, and are expected to include the following general headings:
Agriculture & Animal Sciences
Arts
Behavioral Sciences
Business-Finance-Accounting-Economics
Computers & Software
Engineering & Construction
Mathematics & Statistics
Law
Medicine-Dentistry-Pharmacology-Nursing
Education
Life & Physical Sciences
Military Studies
Social Sciences (all areas)
Religion
And others areas as your demand dictates.
How You Can Participate and Get Published:
This is a unique and efficient business model that works well for everyone. Your cost of getting your article published is $150.00 for the first 50 scholar authors who respond - a 50% discount off of the normal $300.00 fee. ($150.00 - That's less than the cost of 50 lattes!) After the first 50 respondents, the fee will be $300.00. By the time you consider your cost of submitting your article to other journals, printing and paper costs, envelopes, post office lines, postage costs, lost time, long waits, hassles, constant status inquiries from your associates, rejections, and re-submissions, the fee to place your article in the Journal of Advanced Studies is a highly cost efficient means of getting your work published. (Plus, your fee is probably tax deductible, but check with your tax professional to be sure.) You pay one fee, one time, and the ordeal of placing your fine article into the public domain is put to bed once and for all. You're published! And you're published in a journal that can be accessed by virtually everyone in the world, and can be found in the top 100 or so universities and public libraries in the country as well as internationally.
As an ongoing lifetime benefit for the first 50 scholars that respond, their fee on subsequent article submissions (after their first one) will be discounted 50% from whatever the Journal's fee is at that time. That can be a substantial amount of savings if you are a prolific writer.
